The reason for today’s outage is as follows:
At 8:30am EST our monitoring system reported DSL connection loss with Bell Canada on our Fiber link infrastructure resulting in no internet.
The network team began working to determine what was causing the issue, it was determined that the Fiber was giving an error message of low light at our co-location
It was determined that a piece of equipment supplied by Bell was failing at our co-location. Bell came are replaced the unit once we determined which hardware it was.
After replacing the hardware the services were able to resume normally.
We have added new features in place to greatly speed up the identification of such issues should they ever re-occur.
The issue was resolved at 1:30PM EST.
